Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) & Joint Security Area (JSA) Day Tour

Tour conducted by knowledgeable tour guide to visit the historic Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and Joint Security Area (JSA) between North Korea and South Korea. DMZ is the area surrounding the Demarcation Line, which separates North and South Korea, while JSA is a shared space between North and South Korea where the two countries can coexist with the help of the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission. You can choose to join our half-day DMZ tour, or full-day DMZ JSA tour:

• All tours are available from Tuesdays to Sundays, as DMZ is closed on Mondays.
• Price includes complimentary pick-up service from your hotel in Seoul, transportation, entrance fees and tickets.
• English, Chinese and Korean tour guides available.
• Following dress code applies for all tours: Blue jeans, no sleeveless shirts, T-shirts without collar, short pants, skirts, sandals, military-looking clothes, clothing with country flag or name of nationality on it.
• You need to bring along your passport for all the DMZ JSA tours.

DMZ Half-Day Guided Tour Itinerary

Pick up at your hotel in Seoul

• Visit Imjingak Park, built as a safe space for refugees that came from North Korea to South Korea during the Korean War. You will also see the Mangbaedan altar, Unification Pond and Peace Bell.
• Visit Bridge of Freedom, built for 12,773 prisoners to return to South Korea from the North in 1953.
• Explore the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, built with the intent to invade the South.
• Watch a short video about the Korean conflict at the DMZ Theatre, which will give you some background to the infiltration tunnels that North Korea dug. At the DMZ Exhibition hall, you can see key artefacts that will give you a better understanding of the history.
• At Dorasan Observatory, which is the part closest to the North, enjoy views across the border. Visit Dorasan Station, which was constructed with the idea of connecting railroads between the North and the South.

DMZ JSA Full-Day Guided Tour Itinerary

In addition to the above DMZ Half-Day Tour:

• Lunch
• Visit the Unification Bridge, built symbolically in 1998 by the Hyundai Business Group.
• You will also come to Camp Bonifas, which commemorates Captain Arthur G. Bonifas, who was killed in the “axe murder incident”.
• Visit the Freedom House, a safe zone for inter-Korean dialogues and cultural exchanges to promote peace, and the Military Armistice Commission Conference Room, which has doors on both ends so that the North and South can take turns to use the conference room. See the Inter-Korean Peace House and Tongilgak, where the two countries’ representatives can meet to have a dialogue. You will also see Panmungak, where North Korean officials have their offices.
• Visit the Bridge of No Return, where prisoners of war were exchanged.
• See the Bridge of 72 hours, which was built by the North in 72 hours when the Bridge of No return was shut down after the “axe murder incident”.
